Job summary

Apple, Inc. in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a seasoned CNC prototype machinist to prepare materials, program tool paths, and operate multi-axis CNC mills and lathes to turn designs into tangible components.

You will work both independently and with a team, upholding strict quality and safety standards while communicating project status and timelines to internal customers across product teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC setup, operation and programming
• Experience programming in a 3D CAD/CAM environment (Esprit preferred)
• Experience holding close tolerances and validating dimensions using hand metrology
• Ability to program complex 3D parts including general geometries
• Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and interpersonal skills
• High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Prepare material for machining using manual and CNC machines
• Program complex 3D parts in a CAD/CAM environment
• Assemble fixtures, tool holders, and cutting tools to facilitate machining operations
• Hold close tolerances and validate critical features using hand metrology equipment
• Work independently on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative
• Collaborate closely with team members to ensure the highest quality product
• Effectively communicate project status on a regular basis
• Quickly adapt to new processes with minimal information or support
• Accurately follow operational and routine maintenance instructions
• Maintain a safe and clean workspace
