Job summary

Tecomet is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist III to operate, set up, and possibly program CNC mills, wires EDMS, and lathes in Everett, MA. You will read blueprints, select tooling, verify tolerances, and ensure quality using OOQ practices while maintaining safety and 5S standards.

The role emphasizes continuous improvement and collaboration with engineering to optimize fixtures, tooling, and processes for productivity and quality targets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years CNC machining experience.
• Associate degree/certificate in Tooling & Machining or Machinist apprenticeship preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up CNC mills, wires EDMs, and CNC lathes to spec.
• Propose new production setups and adjust offsets/tooling.
• Perform progressive machining with very close tolerances.
• Read blueprints or specifications.
• Troubleshoot CNC programs and processes.
• Improve and produce work instructions.
• Assist Engineering with fixture redesigns to increase quality and productivity.
• Ensure product quality using OOQ standards and measuring equipment.
• Propose adjusted speeds and feeds for different jobs.
• Perform routine PM and maintain tools.
• Perform hand finishing.
• Follow GMP/GDP and complete routers/cards.
• Identify and report safety issues and ensure safe practices.
• Achieve productivity targets and seek improvements.
• Record activities on the job tracking system.
• Maintain 5S/housekeeping in work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
