Job summary

RTX is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop the manufacturing process for 3D metal parts used in radar and sensor programs. You will define materials, fixturing, CNC programs, inspection plans, and operator instructions to ensure efficient production.

You will collaborate with Operations and engineering, applying PFMEA, SPC, and model-based definitions to optimize quality and throughput in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) required.
• 8+ years of experience developing 4+ axis CNC machining programs for metal parts.
• Advanced knowledge of high-speed machining techniques and tool technology.
• Ability to interpret standard and geometric dimensions and tolerances.
• Knowledge of CNC machine tool capability, fixture design, and macro programming.
• Experience with PFMEA, SPC, and shop floor process monitoring.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Translate engineering designs into formal manufacturing process documentation.
• Drive process improvements using data analysis and best practices.
• Design, control, and improve manufacturing process with cross-functional teams.
• Perform process development on new product introductions.
• Optimize CNC programs using modeling and analysis tools.
• Integrate automated part handling and in-machine work holding.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and standardize methods.
