Butler America Aerospace, LLC. is hiring a Machine Operator III (CNC & Manual Setups) in West Des Moines, IA. The role requires setting up and operating precision manual and CNC equipment, reading blueprints, and actively troubleshooting while targeting quality and efficiency.

You will support engineers and planners, train junior staff, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Flexibility for overtime and nonstandard hours is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in setting up and operating precision manual and CNC machining centers.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Proven troubleshoot skills and problem-solving mindset.
• Active participation in continuous improvement and efficiency projects.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate precision manual and/or CNC machining centers according to standard work.
• Adjust feeds, spindle speeds, tooling, and cutters per specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Troubleshoot problems and develop new machining processes.
• Suggest improvements to reduce COPQ and improve efficiency.
• Inspect products using precision gauges and instruments.
• Train/mentor new operators and maintain documentation.
• Work overtime and nonstandard hours as needed.
