Job summary

TekPro, partnered with a premier Chicagoland precision machining company, is seeking a senior Maintenance Technician focused on electrical troubleshooting, controls, automation, and CNC machine tool maintenance. The role demands hands-on diagnostics in a high-end manufacturing environment.

You will troubleshoot CNC machines, electrical systems, PLCs, drives, and robotics, perform preventive maintenance, and support installations, upgrades, and downtime reduction across complex equipment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and CNC machine tool maintenance experience.
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting, I/O, sensors, interlocks, and machine sequences.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladders, and machine documentation.
• Robotics and automated cell troubleshooting experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain CNC machine tools and other manufacturing equipment.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, controls, and automation-related equipment failures.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder diagrams, and machine documentation.
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled machinery and automated manufacturing systems.
• Diagnose PLC I/O, sensors, interlocks, relays, safety circuits, and machine control issues.
• Troubleshoot robotics, automated cells, material handling equipment, pallet systems, and other automation.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on CNC machines and production equipment.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimize production downtime.
• Identify root causes of recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Assist with installation, startup, commissioning, and integration of new machinery and automation.
• Coordinate with manufacturers and outside service technicians when necessary.
