United Precision Corporation is seeking a Senior CNC Machinist at our Washougal, WA facility. The role involves independently setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and optimizing CNC lathes and mills, serving as a technical leader and mentor to machinists of varying levels.

The position follows a 3x12 schedule, Friday through Sunday work with Monday through Thursday off, and requires dedication to quality and production targets while maintaining strict traceability and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 8+ years of CNC machining experience.
• Extensive experience setting up and operating CNC lathes and mills.
• Advanced blueprint reading skills.
• Strong GD&T knowledge and application.
• Expert use of precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot machining and quality issues.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform complete setups on CNC lathes, mills, and multi-axis machining centers.
• Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and process documentation.
• Apply GD&T principles to determine setup strategy, inspection requirements, and process capability.
• Select tooling, work holding, and machining strategies for efficient production.
• Troubleshoot machines, tooling, programming, and quality issues.
• Optimize machining processes for cycle time, tool life, and quality performance.
• Perform first article inspections and support process validations.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Production teams.
• Mentor and train Machinist I, II, and III personnel.
• Lead setting up reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support new product launches and prototype work.
• Assist with processing documentation and standard work development.
• Maintain strict compliance with quality standards, customer requirements, and material traceability.
