Job summary

Union Electric Steel Corporation is seeking a skilled machine operator to set up and operate CNC lathes, mills, band saws, and roll grinders to saw, center, plug, rough turn, finish turn, grind, mill and polish rolls and shafts. You will receive work orders from a foreman, load parts with an overhead crane, verify dimensions against prints, download programs, adjust offsets, and monitor quality.

• Minimum 5 years of machine operator experience.
• Operates CNC lathes, mills and rolls per program.
• Reads prints and checks dimensions against specs.

Responsibilities

• Receives work orders, locates and loads pieces in the machine.
• Checks and records roll dimensions and runout.
• Sets up tools and CNC offsets as required.
• Operates crane to move parts.
• Maintains clean and safe work area.
• Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs.
