Job summary

Veridian Tech in Fort Worth, TX is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC lathes and mills, producing precision fittings per blueprints and specifications. You will troubleshoot issues, perform preventive maintenance, and work with Engineering on design improvements.

The role requires 5+ years of CNC experience, strong math skills, and the ability to mentor junior machinists. Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement are encouraged.

Qualifications

• 5+ years CNC machining experience in a high-tech manufacturing environment.
• Ability to set up and operate at least five different types of CNC machines.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Working knowledge of advanced shop mathematics, including trigonometry.
• Experience mentoring junior machinists and working in Lean environments.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate a variety of CNC lathes/mills for complex, close-tolerance work.
• Read blueprints, engineering drawings, and instructions to dimension parts precisely.
• Create, prove out, and edit standard machining programs using IGF software.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and collaborate with Engineering on improvements.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and ensure equipment accuracy.
• Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMMs as required.
• Train and mentor less-experienced machinists and support Lean initiatives.
