Job summary

CONMED is seeking a Senior Machinist to set up and operate advanced CNC equipment, including 4/5 axis mills, Swiss machines, and live tooling lathes, to produce high-precision medical device parts.

The role emphasizes verifying new set-ups, conducting first‑piece and in‑process inspections, adjusting offsets, and training teammates to uphold strict tolerances and production efficiency.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, understand, and interpret G and M codes.
• Demonstrated ability to pursue continuous improvement and optimize processes.
• Experience in training and mentoring less experienced employees.

Responsibilities

• Set up advanced CNC machinery (4/5 axis mills, Swiss machines, lathes with live tooling) and operate multi‑axis CNC equipment.
• Maintain close tolerance dimensions while meeting production rates.
• Verify/validate new setup programs; perform in‑process and first piece inspection.
• Complete offset adjustments to multi‑axis equipment to ensure tolerances.
• Provide training to less experienced staff.
