Job summary

CONMED Corporation is seeking a Sr Machinist to operate and set up advanced CNC equipment, including 4- and 5-axis mills, Swiss machines, and live-tooling lathes, to produce close-tolerance medical device parts.

This role emphasizes verifying and validating new set-ups and first piece runs, performing in-process inspection, and training less experienced staff. 2–4 years CNC experience or related qualifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, understand, and interpret G and M codes.

Responsibilities

• Set up advanced CNC machinery such as 4 and 5 axis mills, Swiss machines, and lathes with live tooling; operate multi-axis CNC equipment to fabricate parts.
• Maintain close tolerance dimensions at prescribed production rates.
• Verify/validate new set-ups and perform in-process and first piece inspections.
• Make offset adjustments to multi-axis equipment to ensure parts meet tight tolerances.
• Provide training and technical guidance to less experienced employees.
