Job summary

SkillSource Tech is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist (Mills & Lathes) to produce high-precision components for aerospace, automotive, and medical device applications. The role focuses on setting up and operating Fanuc-controlled CNC machines, reading blueprints, and making precise tool offsets with tight tolerances.

The candidate should have 5+ years of CNC machining experience, strong G&M code skills, and familiarity with metrology tools (CMM a plus).

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years CNC machining experience.
• Minimum 3 years proficiency setting up and operating CNC machines.
• Strong blueprint reading skills.
• Ability to read and understand G & M codes - Fanuc control.
• Knowledge of tool selection, tooling setup, and making tool offsets.
• Proficiency in using metrology tools (CMM experience a plus).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machine issues.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and edit Fanuc controlled CNC Mills & Lathes as per production specs.
• 2 to 4 axis machines; 5 axis mills experience a plus.
• Read and interpret blueprints and drawings for accurate machining.
• Upload programs and adjust machine parameters (G & M code edits).
• Select and install tooling and make tooling offsets as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machines.
• Conduct First Article Inspection (FAI) using calipers, micrometers, and other tools.
• Monitor and maintain quality control throughout the machining process.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
