Job summary

Chief Mfg is seeking a skilled CNC machinist to join our manufacturing team. You will set up and operate CNC lathes and mills, reading blueprints and GD&T specifications to produce high-quality parts. The role requires experience with Fanuc controls and precision measurement tools, with CAD/CAM knowledge considered a plus.

You will perform tooling setup, tool changes, and routine maintenance while contributing to continuous improvement in a dynamic production environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with CNC programming and operation using Fanuc controls.
• Strong blueprint reading skills and GD&T knowledge.
• Familiarity with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges).
• Experience with CNC milling machines and lathes in a manufacturing environment.
• CAD/CAM knowledge is a plus; experience with Horizontal Boring Mills and forklifts is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC lathes and milling machines (Fanuc-controlled).
• Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T specifications for accurate machining.
• Set up tooling, fixtures and offsets; perform tool changes as needed.
• Use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and ensure quality.
• Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshoot to minimize downtime.
