Job summary

Foundation Robotics Lab in San Francisco seeks a seasoned machinist to manufacture high-precision components for humanoid robots and actuators. You will join a tight-knit team focused on scalable, cost-efficient production and tight tolerances.

You are hands-on, read blueprints, program CNC machines, and help design automated setups. This role rewards technical excellence, collaboration with engineers, and a drive to push manufacturing capabilities at scale.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a machinist in high-precision manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD files.
• Proficient in operating and programming CNC machines.
• Experience with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and CMMs.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam or Fusion 360.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture high-precision components for humanoid robots and actuators.
• Support transition from prototype to scalable, high-quality production.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to refine designs and processes.
• Design and implement automated machining and handling systems for mass production.
• Maintain and operate advanced machining tools to meet tight tolerances.
