Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Senior CNC Machinist to join our South Seattle team, focusing on advanced milling, prototype work, and process improvement. The role demands strong setup capabilities and the ability to interpret complex drawings with GD&T.

The successful candidate will program adjustments, perform machine setup, and support engineering during product development in a fast-paced environment. Onsite work in Seattle, with a competitive hourly pay range and contract-to-hire opportunity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC machining experience in manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing environments.
• Advanced CNC setup experience with minimal supervision.
• Strong experience operating and setting up CNC milling machines.
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and indicators.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete setups and operation of CNC milling machines (3-, 4-, and 5-axis).
• Interpret drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and CAD models to manufacture precision components.
• Support R&D by machining prototype parts and collaborating with engineers.
• Select tooling, establish offsets, and optimize machining parameters for quality and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot issues and adjust programs to meet production needs.
• Conduct first-piece, in-process, and final inspections with precision measuring tools.
• Maintain tight tolerances and high quality while meeting deadlines.
• Recommend process improvements to increase quality and throughput.
• Perform preventive maintenance and keep machines clean and safe.
