Job summary

Alfa Laval Mid Europe GmbH is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team in Newburyport, MA. The role leads setup and operation of newly installed CNC machinery, programs and edits CNC jobs, and supports process improvement across the machining cell.

You will manufacture parts to tight tolerances, read complex drawings, and mentor teammates while adhering to ISO quality standards and safe work practices. Overtime may be required in this role.

Qualifications

  • You have a High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in CNC machining centers and turning centers setup, operation, and programming.
  • Proven experience setting up fixtures, calculating feed rates and cutting speeds.
  • Prior experience with CNC programming and program editing is required.
  • Must have the ability to maintain established quality standards and follow quality procedures.
  • Experience with Fanuc, Mazatrol, or Trak CNC controls is highly preferred.
  • Experience with MasterCam is a plus.
  • Manual machining experience is a plus.
  • ISO 9001, Lean Six Sigma and/or 5S experience is preferred.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed or required, with appropriate notice and in accordance with company policy.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must ensure work areas and equipment are maintained in a clean, safe, and orderly condition, following prescribed safety measures and company policies.

  • Use micrometers, dial calipers, and other precision measuring equipment effectively.
  • Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual circumstances to the Production Manager.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

About the Job
