Job summary

Alfa Laval Mid Europe GmbH in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Quality Inspector to ensure reliable, on-time inspection of spare parts using the Mitutoyo CMM.

You will set up the CMM for each part, perform inspections per the Quality Inspection Plan and applicable standards, and support Lean initiatives. A high school diploma and 1+ years CMM experience are required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Mitutoyo Crysta-Apex-121210 CMM for spare part inspection.
• Inspect spare parts according to Quality Inspection Plans and applicable standards.
• Perform weld inspection per ANSI/ASNT CP-105.
• Follow SOPs and backfill inspections as needed.
• Apply Lean Six Sigma tools to improve safety, quality, delivery and costs.
• Utilize MS Word/Excel/SharePoint for documentation.

About the job

As an integral member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring reliable, on-time inspection of Alfa Laval spare parts through use of the Coordinate Measure Machine (CMM). You will have the opportunity to set up the CMM for each spare part and complete other compliance checks according to the Quality Inspection Plan, contributing to the overall success and growth of our organization.

Currently, this is an onsite position located in Indianapolis, IN.

• Utilize the Mitutoyo Crysta-Apex-121210 Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) for spare part inspection in compliance with the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation and Buy America CFR and applicable Alfa Laval and Military Standard specifications.
• Inspect according to the Quality Inspection Plans for manual hand-tool inspection of spare parts in compliance with the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation and Buy America CFR and applicable Alfa Laval and Military Standard specifications.
• Complete weld inspection according to ANSI/ASNT CP-105, Standard Topical Outlines for Qualification of Nondestructive Testing Personnel.
• Follow applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Complete spare part inspections in other areas as needed or directed by management.
• Use Lean Six Sigma tools within the Alfa Laval Performance System to improve safety, quality, delivery and costs in all areas of the Quality department.
• Complete other inspections as requested to backfill when needed.

What you know

You have a high school diploma or GED and:

• 1+ years of using a CMM to inspect against drawings using GD&T
• Proficient in hand measuring tools
• Knowledge and proficiency in Lean Six-Sigma tools including 5s, DMAIC, Kaizen, SOPs
• Proficient in using MS Word, MS Excel, and Sharepoint – preferred
• Basic knowledge of WMS and Movex – preferred

• Critical thinking and problem-solving
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
• Strong leadership and communication skills
