Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer specializing in CNC machining to lead precision machining operations and act as the technical lead for machining strategy, equipment selection, and process development.

You will partner with internal teams and external providers to manage machining systems that support our products, with deep experience in multi-axis CNC, fixturing, tooling, and process validation. This is a technical leadership role within a broad engineering organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field is required or equivalent.
• 7+ years in high-throughput or complex operational environments.
• Experience owning end-to-end processes and cross-functional work.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end CNC machining strategy, define capabilities, throughput, and quality targets.
• Drive equipment selection, tooling, and fixturing for scalable layouts.
• Develop machining process plans, CAM standards, and in-process validation.
• Lead tooling life, cutter selection, and vendor engagement strategies.
• Collaborate with design, quality, and metrology for manufacturability feedback.
• Establish documentation: process sheets, control plans, FMEAs, SOPs.
• continuously improve efficiency, cycle times, and tool life.
• Build relationships with OEMs and suppliers for deployment of solutions.
