Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in a machine shop with 3+ years in leadership.
• Strong CNC machining experience (milling, turning, etc.)
• Proven capacity planning and shop-floor management.
• Experience with capital equipment procurement and vendor management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to read engineering drawings.
• Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement mindset.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience in regulated industries (medical device, aerospace) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily machine shop operations to meet production schedules and targets.
• Monitor OEE, cycle times, and throughput; report findings.
• Manage equipment lifecycle, upgrades, and replacements.
• Serve as primary contact for machinery vendors.
• Optimize shop layout for safety and efficiency.
• Communicate capacity and capabilities to cross-functional teams.
• Oversee preventative maintenance and safety compliance.
• Maintain accurate maintenance, calibration, and repair records.
• Partner with Engineering on manufacturability, drawings, and specs.
• Lead, coach, and develop machinists and operators.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
• Support setup machinists with tooling and fixtures.
• Troubleshoot shop floor challenges and improve flow.
• Lead daily shift meetings and communicate priorities.
