Job summary

Starpath Robotics Inc. is seeking a Senior CNC LATHE Programmer & Machinist with deep expertise in 2-axis turning to join our precision aerospace robotics team. You will program and operate Okuma lathes, interpret complex drawings, and optimize processes to deliver high-quality components.

You will mentor teammates, collaborate across engineering and production, and contribute to fixture tooling and continuous improvement. This role demands ownership and a hands-on approach in a fast-paced shop.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 8+ years CNC programming and machining experience.
• Deep mastery of CNC turning including boring, grooving, threading, drilling.
• Proficiency in Okuma OSP control (New 2026).
• Experience with Fusion 360, Mastercam or NX CAM; strong CAM skills.
• Expertise in programming and operating lathe CNC machines.
• Background in complex turning contours and aerospace applications.
• Experience mentoring others or leading shop projects.

Responsibilities

• Program and operate CNC Lathes (2-axis) to support precision aerospace robotics manufacturing.
• Create, edit, and optimize programs for Okuma G-code with CAM systems.
• Interpret drawings, CAD/CAM/.STP/3D models and GD&T requirements for machining strategies.
• Generate tool lists and perform setups.
• Maintain records of marks, programs, setup sheets, and tool lists.
• Select tooling and optimize speeds/feeds for efficiency and tool life.
• Design and machine fixture tooling as required.
• Collaborate with engineering and production to improve manufacturability.
• Own the machine shop, troubleshoot, and optimize processes.
• Mentor teammates and share best practices.
• Assist with assembly when needed to ensure team success.
• Support maintenance, cleanliness, and repairs of machinery.
