Job summary

Benchmark Electronics in Tempe, AZ, is seeking a skilled CNC Lathe or Mill Machinist to contribute to our manufacturing team. You will set up and operate CNC lathes and mills, read blueprints, select tooling, and ensure parts conform to drawings.

You will work from drawings and setup sheets, edit programs, monitor machine health, perform inspections with precision instruments, and uphold 6S and lean practices in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Solid working knowledge of general machining practices and blueprint reading.
• 5–10 years of CNC lathe and/or mill experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and instructions.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and communicate effectively.
• Ability to perform basic shop math.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run CNC Lathes and Mills to complete operations.
• Assist Engineering in planning sequences and selecting tooling.
• Read drawings, setup sheets, and follow verbal instructions.
• Edit programs and adjust cutting tool offsets.
• Identify and address machine issues; propose improvements.
• Inspect work with precision instruments and ensure conformance.
• Perform daily machine maintenance and support lean manufacturing.
