Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking a Sr. Nursing Aide (CNA) per diem for the Medicine PCU at Hillcrest. Under RN supervision, you will support the continuum of care by providing basic patient care, assisting with daily living activities, and transporting patients and specimens.

You may cross-train to the Hospital Unit Secretary role and participate in unit performance improvement activities. The role requires active California CNA license, BART or BLS with a plan to obtain BART within six months,

Qualifications

• Active California CNA license.
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six months.
• One (1+) year CNA experience in an acute care setting.
• Ability to observe deviations from normal.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Assist with patient transport, specimen transport, and inventory management.
• Cross-train to the Hospital Unit Secretary role.
• Participate in performance improvement activities and chart audits.
