Job summary

University of California San Diego Health is seeking a Sr. Nursing Aide (CNA) to support the Surgical PCU team at Hillcrest. Under RN supervision, the CNA provides basic patient care and ADL assistance, with 12-hour shifts, Sundays through Saturdays, in a 90% appointment.

The role requires a California CNA license, BART or BLS at hire with six-month plan to obtain BART, and strong observation skills. Prior CNA experience in psych/behavioral settings and Epic knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

• Active California CNA license.
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
• Demonstrated ability to observe deviations from normal.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care and assistance with activities of daily living.
• Transport patients and specimens/blood products; assist with inventory management.
• Participate in team training, scheduling, and administrative functions of the unit.
