Job summary

UES is seeking a safety-focused Experienced CMT Field Technician to support engineering, materials testing, and inspection projects. This role involves performing advanced field and laboratory testing, conducting on-site inspections, and ensuring projects meet industry standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate is technically skilled, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced field environment.

Qualifications

• ACI Certification Level 1 Concrete Testing preferred or ability to obtain within a specified time period.
• 3+ years of field-based experience in materials testing, construction inspection, geotechnical fieldwork, or a related industry.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; ability to safely operate company vehicles.
• Commitment to safety and OSHA regulations, industry best practices, and company safety policies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Field Data Collection (FDC) software or similar tools.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret blueprints, procedures, manuals and reports related to drilling, safety, and project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing on soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and other construction materials in line with project specs and standards.
• Ensure testing requirements are met and compliant with project specifications, requirements and policies.
• Collect, label, and transport material samples to laboratories, maintaining sample integrity.
• Maintain testing equipment and ensure proper function per guidelines.
• Complete detailed reports and documentation of test results and submit to project managers.
• Communicate with dispatch, field supervisors, contractors and project managers with real-time updates.
• Mentor and support junior field technicians on procedures, methods and safety.
• Follow OSHA, company and client safety protocols including PPE usage.
• Adapt to changing project requirements and schedules; accommodate early mornings, weekends, or overnight work.
• Operate and maintain assigned company vehicle, scheduling routine maintenance.
• Travel to job sites within the designated region; may require overnight stays.
• Flexibility to work variable schedules and overtime based on project demands.
• Perform additional duties to support initiatives and project success.
