Job summary

Bavarian Nordic in the United States is seeking a Senior CMO Manager, External Manufacturing to own end-to-end CMO activities, ensuring compliant, timely delivery and strong collaboration with internal teams and external partners.

You will review critical CMO documentation, manage work orders and related financial processes, and contribute to QMRs, APQRs, and long-range planning, providing governance and on-site oversight as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7+ years in pharma/biotech manufacturing with CMO oversight.
• Strong experience managing deviations and change controls within QMS.
• Solid understanding of regulatory requirements for drug substance/product.
• Broad cross-functional knowledge across QA, QC, Supply Chain, MSAT, Regulatory Affairs.
• Proven stakeholder management in global, cross-functional settings.

Responsibilities

• Oversee CMO performance and delivery across projects.
• Serve as the primary interface between Bavarian Nordic and CMOs.
• Govern governance, communication, and operating procedures with CMOs.
• Provide quality oversight, documentation control, and compliance with QMS.
• Monitor KPIs, production control, and financial coordination with partners.
• Align BN and CMO governance and change implementations.
• Support material and information flow to CMOs.
• Review deviations, change controls, and manufacturing instructions.
• Participate in long-range planning, QMRs, and APQRs.
