Job summary

Superior Aerospace Precision Machining is seeking an experienced CMM Programmer / Quality Inspector to join our team. This role programs and operates coordinate measuring machines, inspects precision-machined components, and ensures products meet engineering and quality requirements.

Candidate should have at least five years in quality inspection in manufacturing, plus at least three years with CMM operation and PC-DMIS.

Qualifications

• At least five years of recent quality inspection experience in a machining or manufacturing environment.
• At least three years of hands-on CMM operation and PC-DMIS programming experience.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and ASME Y14.5.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and 3D CAD models.
• Working knowledge of quality systems and manufacturing inspection practices.
• Strong attention to detail, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work with multiple departments.
• Associate degree or technical college certificate preferred; equivalent education and relevant experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Program and operate coordinate measuring machines using PC-DMIS.
• Inspect precision-machined components for conformance to specifications.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D CAD models.
• Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing requirements in accordance with ASME Y14.5.
• Collect, record, and report inspection and quality data.
• Communicate inspection results and quality concerns to machinists, Engineering, Production, and other departments.
• Work with machine operators to identify and resolve dimensional or quality issues.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of quality systems and procedures.
• Support continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives.
• Maintain accurate inspection records using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other applicable systems.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
