Job summary

Morgan Advanced Materials is seeking a Quality Specialist III / CMM Programmer to validate product conformance and program coordinate measuring machines. You will set up CMMs, perform first-article and production inspections, interpret complex drawings, and provide technical guidance on measurement methods.

The role requires advanced CMM programming (PC-DMIS+) and GD&T proficiency, with mentoring responsibilities and opportunities to improve inspection efficiency across the team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of mechanical inspection experience with standard and complex inspection practices.
• Advanced CMM measurement, setup and programming capability; PC-DMIS+ and multi-sensor OGP programming experience required.
• Advanced print reading and inspection methodology with a strong ASME Y14.5 and GD&T understanding.
• Ability to evaluate product conformance using inspection reports and precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to determine sampling plans statistically and document results clearly.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently with changing priorities.
• Precision manufacturing inspection experience preferred; ceramics experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up and run CMM inspection systems including PC-DMIS+ and OGP multi-sensor setups.
• Perform advanced mechanical inspection using approved sampling plans or 100% inspection techniques.
• Conduct first-article and production inspections and evaluate conformance from CMM reports and measurements.
• Interpret drawings and ASME Y14.5 GD&T requirements for inspections.
• Review customer quality requirements, specs and inspection documentation.
• Set up and operate additional inspection equipment (comparators, micrometers, profilometers, lasers, indicators, microscopes).
• Troubleshoot inspection issues and document results accurately.
• Determine sampling plans using statistical methods.
• Provide guidance to operators and quality staff on measurement techniques.
• Identify opportunities to improve inspection efficiency and reduce waste.
