Job summary

Shape Corp. is seeking a Metrology Programmer to develop, run, and refine CMM programs for metal and plastic parts, fixtures and reports. You will interpret drawings, create data layouts, and support fixture design reviews.

Responsibilities include leading CMM operators in the absence of the lead, training teammates, and contributing to calibration and continuous improvement activities. Prototyping tasks are also part of the role.

Qualifications

• Experience programming CMMs and creating layout reports.
• Ability to train operators and lead in the absence of the CMM lead.
• Support calibration and fixture design reviews.

Responsibilities

• Develop programs using Metrologic software to collect data on parts and fixtures.
• Run programs to layout parts and check fixtures on CMM.
• Develop reports to meet customer requirements using layout data.
• Execute Blueprint Reading and GD&T interpretation.
• Troubleshoot existing programs and reports.
• Provide leadership for CMM operators in the absence of the CMM lead.
• Provide training to help Shape associates and customers understand the layout results.
• Assist in calibration and certification of process inspection equipment.
• Develop data collection programs using PolyWorks to collect data on finished parts, sub-assemblies, fixtures.
• Learn and operate Faro Arm.
• Ensure timely completion of layouts and reports.
• Attend gage design meetings to ensure Shape standards are included in fixture design.
• Store data, reports and documents per defined structure and naming convention.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities for processes.
• Prototype team assignments as needed.
