You will work across extractions, library preparation, and sequencing while coordinating with lab assistants on pre- and post-analytical tasks. The role emphasizes team collaboration, quality control, and continuous improvement in a dynamic lab setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in sciences or related discipline.
• Valid California CLS or CGMBS license.
• 4+ years of CLS experience in a clinical lab environment.
• Minimum 1 year in a Lead role.

Responsibilities

• Perform and report clinical laboratory testing to aid physicians in diagnosis and treatment.
• Supervise team members and ensure adherence to laboratory procedures across NGS workflows.
• Handle and process patient specimens with accurate record-keeping and reporting of results.
• Select, implement, and evaluate quality control materials for QC of assays.
• Troubleshoot assays and equipment when QC materials fail to perform.
• Document corrective actions for deviations from performance specifications.
• Assist in audits by regulatory bodies (e.g., CAP) and external customers.
• Participate in licensure-related activities and quality management inspections.
• Train CLS and lab personnel; monitor non-licensed staff; provide guidance on troubleshooting.
• Assist in assay development and apply analytical knowledge to team goals.
• Work independently to resolve complex problems.
