Eliassen Group is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to guide cloud architecture and integration across hybrid on‑prem to AWS environments. You will influence security, verification, and deployment while working in Scaled Agile teams on regulated projects.

The role requires hands‑on AWS GovCloud/commercial experience, OpenShift/Kubernetes expertise, and a strong DevSecOps mindset, including AI-assisted engineering approaches. Remote-friendly contract engagement with US government contexts.

Qualifications

• Proven cloud architecture and technical planning experience for hybrid on‑prem to AWS systems.
• Hands‑on with AWS GovCloud/Commercial, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
• Security architecture experience with SSP/ATO mappings for regulated environments.
• Experience with DevSecOps toolchains, CI/CD, and SBOM practices.
• Scaled Agile collaboration across mixed teams and strong technical decision communication.
• Familiarity with Java ecosystems, microservices, REST, and Linux cloud-native development.
• Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools for development and testing.

Responsabilités

• Lead cloud architecture and technical planning for hybrid on‑prem to AWS designs across multiple clusters and regions.
• Conduct platform trade studies for ECS, EKS, and OpenShift with cost and effort modeling.
• Drive integration, verification, validation, and fielding within regulated environments (FISMA High, FedRAMP High).
• Design security architecture including trust boundaries, segmentation, and control mapping to SSP/ATO boundaries.
• Engineer networking patterns (ALB, WAF, PrivateLink, endpoints) and related enterprise access.
• Provide system and software design guidance within Scaled Agile teams.
• Lead hardware/software integration and cloud system design for Java microservices ecosystems.
• Apply DevSecOps practices: CI/CD, security scanning, SBOM, image signing, secrets management.
