Markon, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Systems Engineer to support an Intelligence Community client in Chantilly, VA.

The role focuses on designing, securing, integrating, and optimizing mission-critical cloud infrastructure within classified environments, combining systems engineering with hands-on AWS administration, security engineering, and automation. You will work with AWS services, Docker, Kafka, and modern scripting languages to deliver scalable solutions while maintaining

Formación

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph is required.
• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience or advanced degrees with sponsor experience.
• Experience administering AWS cloud environments, including classified AWS/C2S.
• Hands-on AWS services: S3, EC2, ELB, ECR, VPC, Auto Scaling, Lambda, MSK, SageMaker, KMS; Docker and Kafka.
• Experience implementing cloud security controls: security groups, NACLs, RBAC, ABAC.
• Strong Unix/Linux administration and scripting in Python/Java/TypeScript.
• Experience with auditing, MFA, OAuth, and RBAC.
• Solid systems engineering background: requirements, risk, integration, testing, validation.
• Effective communication of complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsabilidades

• Design, implement, and optimize secure cloud infrastructure for mission-critical operations.
• Assess risks, vulnerabilities, and mitigations; conduct feasibility and gap analyses.
• Evaluate COTS/emerging tech to support operational requirements.
• Lead system integration, testing, verification, and validation.
• Create architecture diagrams, technical docs, and engineering standards.
• Translate requirements into secure, scalable technical solutions.
• Configure and maintain AWS cloud services in classified environments.
• Implement cloud security controls and manage access and MFA.
• Develop automation scripts using Python/Java/TypeScript; collaborate in Agile settings.
• Monitor SLAs and performance; ensure reliability and cross-team collaboration.
