Job summary

Bloomberg L.P. in New York is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Cloud Stability to help maintain the Bloomberg Cloud Compute (BCC) platform.

You will work on capacity management, deployments, and monitoring across hypervisors, zones, and clusters, primarily using Python with OpenStack, Ceph and related Open Source technologies. You will contribute to reliability, participate in upstream projects, and grow skills in cloud platforms, scripting, and distributed systems while collaborating with a

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software development experience (Python or another object-oriented language).
• Willingness to learn new skills and cloud technology.
• BA, BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Work with the OpenStack API and interface with other Compute-Storage teams.
• Be responsible for CI/CD of the Bloomberg Cloud Compute platform.
• Contribute to predicting performance issues caused by noisy neighbors.
• Participate in predictive capacity planning and management of the cloud compute platform.
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and task refinement.
