Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Lead Cloud Solutions Architect to act as the senior client-facing technology leader for the Cloud Solutions team. You will partner with business stakeholders to understand strategic objectives, identify opportunities, and develop solution strategies that deliver measurable business value.

Responsible for engagement, discovery, requirements analysis, and implementation planning across cloud, applications, and technology initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in solution architecture, consulting, technical leadership, or customer-facing technology roles.
• Led complex cross-functional technology initiatives from discovery through implementation.
• Engaged business leaders to gather requirements and translate objectives into practical designs.
• Advanced understanding of Microsoft Azure services and cloud solution architecture.
• Working knowledge of AWS and cloud architecture principles.
• Strong understanding of enterprise networking, DNS, routing, firewalls, VPNs, and hybrid networking.
• Experience designing with relational and non-relational databases and data integrations.
• Strong Linux-based OS and enterprise workloads experience.
• Experience integrating enterprise SaaS, APIs, and business systems.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical advisor and trusted partner for business stakeholders.
• Lead client engagement activities: discovery, workshops, and business case development.
• Translate business needs into scalable technology solutions.
• Oversee full solution lifecycle: deployment, transition, and support planning.
• Develop roadmaps and delivery plans for cloud, applications, and technology initiatives.
• Direct complex engagements from concept to implementation and transition.
• Collaborate with vendors, delivery teams, and Cloud Center of Excellence.
• Provide guidance to Solution Architects, Engineers, and delivery teams.
• Evaluate options, costs, licensing, and support considerations.
• Identify risks and mitigation strategies for successful outcomes.
• Drive vendor evaluations, PoCs, and technology assessments.
• Ensure solutions leverage enterprise standards and platform services.
• Drive adoption, stakeholder satisfaction, and delivery accountability.
