Job summary

Apple in Cupertino seeks a Senior Software Engineer for the Find My team to architect and implement highly available, large-scale deployment solutions. You will partner with product, SRE and other engineering teams to bring these systems to life and ensure reliability for millions of users.

As a senior engineer, you’ll mentor juniors, contribute to design and code reviews, and help shape how Find My scales across multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of strong software development experience and 5+ years of cloud architectures.
• Experience with Java and ability to pick up Python, Go or Bash for automation.
• Hands-on with cloud networking, security, IAM and secret management.
• Kubernetes, observability tools and microservices experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering or related field or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Minimum Qualifications

3+ years of strong software development experience and 5+ years of experience in working with cloud architecturesAbility to be in office Monday through ThursdayStrong software development experience with Java and a proven versatility to pick up other languages (such as Python, Go or Bash) for automation and tooling.Hands-on experience in managing and working with cloud architectures including their specific networking and native services.Deep knowledge of Kubernetes (K8s) architecture, container runtimes, and package management via technologies like Helm.Proficiency with Terraform or similar technolgies, including writing modular, reusable code for multi-environment setups.Deep understanding of network security, firewalls, encryption (at rest and in transit), IAM roles, and secret management tools (e.g., HashiCorp Vault, cloud native secret managers).Hands-on experience with observability and integrating with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and SplunkHands-on experience in building and integrating with micro services.Skilled at identifying architectural gaps and driving solutions across partner teamsExcellent analytical and problem solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)

Preferred Qualifications

Hands-on experience with multi-cloud environments like AWS, Google Cloud and AzureExperience leveraging LLMs or AI tooling for operational automation and workflow optimizationStrong ability to communicate complex infrastructure concepts to both technical and business stakeholdersProven track record of leading and managing enterprise level projects or multi-functional engineering initiatives
