Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency Next Generation Software Office.

You will accelerate modernization of software delivery, focusing on on-demand and cloud-based solutions for complex system-of-systems development, integration, and testing. The role requires leading teams or working independently with engineering rigor, and leveraging API/ICD governance, cloud-native architectures, containers, and HWIL testing to deliver

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) field.
• 12+ years working on missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD program/project.
• Active Secret clearance.
• Design, development, and management of software libraries and Cloud-based software architectures and requirements.
• Experience in hardware in the loop and cloud-based testing to support software development and delivery.
• Experience in management and review of application programming interfaces (API) and interface control documents (ICD) and enabling software utilized in Cloud-based and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) environments.
• Experience in artificial intelligence development and tooling and agentic operations.
• Ability to work independently, as a team member, or leading teams/tasks, applying engineering rigor to solve engineering/scientific problems.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the Missile Defense Agency Next Generation Software Office to accelerate and modernize software development, integration, and delivery.
• Develop on-demand and cloud-based software for system of systems development, integration, and testing.
• Lead or participate in teams/tasks with engineering rigor to solve complex problems.
• Collaborate on API/ICD management and enable software for Cloud-based and HWIL environments.
