Job summary

bioMérieux is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its R&D team in building cloud-native software for in vitro diagnostic solutions. You will design scalable systems, implement IaC, and develop data pipelines while collaborating with data engineering, product management, and architecture teams.

The role emphasizes security, governance, and modern development practices, with a hybrid schedule and opportunities to contribute to architecture decisions and proofs-of-concept projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific field.
• 7+ years of full stack development experience, including Java and modern web frameworks.
• Experience with AWS EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS, EKS, and RDS.
• Proven experience with AWS integration/production systems.
• Security, compliance, and privacy fundamentals knowledge.
• Experience developing and maintaining APIs or serverless patterns.
• Terraform or AWS CDK/CloudFormation preferred.
• Data integration implementation strategies.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement multi-tier, distributed, event-driven systems using cloud-native services.
• Implement IaC solutions with AWS CloudFormation, Docker/Kubernetes, and automated workflows.
• Develop microservices using AWS ECS/EKS for scalability and security.
• Build data pipelines with AWS Lambda, Glue, and related services; ensure availability and DR.
• Design APIs and integrate with internal/external systems.
• Develop data storage solutions, including data lakes/warehouses for analytic workloads.
• Apply data governance practices (quality, lineage, security).
• Create real-time/stream data solutions for reliable data flows.
• Participate in design/code reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Evaluate new technologies to support business needs.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs and plans.
