Job summary

Upwind Security, Inc. is seeking a Security Engineer to join the MDR team as the founding U.S. member of the Security organization. You will focus on proactive reviews, providing advanced guidance to customers, and independently owning U.S.-hours coverage.

You will work with analysts, researchers, and engineers to scale the U.S. presence, with a path toward technical or team leadership as the organization grows.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in cloud security and MDR capabilities.
• Ability to perform proactive reviews and provide actionable guidance.
• Strong collaboration with analysts, researchers, and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Assist in tuning detection and response mechanisms.
• Lead in-depth security investigations (supply chain, API, malware, runtime).
• Document outcomes and develop playbooks to improve detection and response.
• Collaborate with Security Analysts, Research, and Backend teams to improve detection quality.
• Handle complex incidents escalated from Tier 1/2 and communicate findings to customers.
• Engage in recurring customer meetings to translate findings into recommendations.
• Stay updated on new threats and best practices in cloud security.
• Contribute to AI-driven detection model development and training.
