Job summary

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Security Platform is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to help build and operate the Key Management Service (KMS), enabling lifecycle management of cryptographic keys for OCI customers. You will work on secure, scalable cloud infrastructure and contribute to production-ready features with a focus on reliability and security.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in CS, engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of software development experience, preferably with distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, security services, or large-scale backend services.
• Strong programming skills in Java, C++, C, Go, or a similar systems/backend programming language.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals.
• Strong ownership, communication skills, and ability to work effectively in a collaborative engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, debug, and operate components of OCI’s Key Management Service.
• Develop secure, scalable, and maintainable software for KMS services and related infrastructure.
• Contribute to features supporting key lifecycle management, cryptographic operations, encryption-at-rest, and service integrations.
• Troubleshoot production issues and participate in operational readiness, on-call support, incident response, and reliability improvements.
• Collaborate with principal engineers, architects, and partner OCI teams to deliver production-ready solutions.
• Write clear technical documents, design notes, runbooks, and operational guidance.
