Job summary

Primer is hiring a Staff Security Engineer in Pasadena, CA to strengthen our security posture across cloud environments. You will own DAST/SAST, manage vulnerability remediation, respond to alerts, and lead root-cause analysis while guiding incident response from detection to resolution.

You will work with DevOps and IT teams to embed security into the SDLC, automate controls, and drive continuous compliance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Security and/or Cloud Operations.
• Hands-on AWS experience.
• Intrusion prevention systems experience.
• Experience with system logging and SIEM technologies.
• Experience with cloud native security tools (IAM, WAF).
• Experience integrating Okta as an IdP into security processes.
• Knowledge of incident response processes and practices.
• Experience with vulnerability management tools and methods.
• Proven ability to integrate security into IT/DevOps environments.
• Experience automating security processes.

Responsibilities

• Analyze the organizational security posture and seek improvements.
• Implement and manage security controls for cloud-based infrastructure, platforms, and applications.
• Conduct security assessments and audits of cloud environments to identify vulnerabilities.
• Manage and optimize cloud-based security tools (e.g., EDR).
• Respond to security alerts and perform root cause analysis.
• Lead incident response and track cyber actions from detection to resolution.
• Broaden the Zero Trust framework with IT, DevOps, and development teams.
• Integrate security into SDLC and DevSecOps practices.
• Automate security solutions to drive continuous compliance.
