Job summary

Google is seeking a Senior Security Engineer for the AutoVM Cloud Usage Taskforce in San Jose, CA. You will help identify vulnerabilities and implement security controls across Google’s cloud environment.

You’ll lead security assessments, threat modeling, and risk analysis, collaborating with software engineers to fix security flaws and reduce risk in the GCP stack. The role includes cross-team coordination and vulnerability management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years in security assessments, design reviews or threat modeling.
• 5 years in security engineering, networking security and protocols.
• 5 years of coding in one or more general languages.
• 1 year of technical leadership or risk analysis experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify security issues and design controls and tools to improve security systems and processes.
• Define the infrastructure to analyze, deploy, and manage vulnerability management across Google.
• Build a data driven approach to identify existing vulnerabilities to improve the security posture of Alphabet's use of GCP.
• Partner with other security engineers and teams to prioritize and execute on security debt reduction efforts to deliver the team's objectives and key results.
