Job summary

Echo Global Logistics is seeking a Principal Cloud Security Engineer to build secure-by-default AWS platform patterns across a growing multi-account environment. This senior, hands-on role treats security as a software problem, creating reusable Terraform modules, policy-as-code, and paved-road patterns for engineering teams at scale.

The ideal candidate blends cloud infrastructure expertise with dev workflows and can work across Security, Platform Engineering, Architecture, and software teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software/platform/sre or cloud security with AWS multi-account experience.
• Hands-on AWS security engineering in multi-account environments.
• Infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform and reusable modules.
• Proficient in writing production-quality code in at least one language (C#, Go, Python, Java, TypeScript).
• Experience with policy-as-code and preventive guardrails.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure-by-default AWS patterns across multi-account environments.
• Build and maintain reusable Terraform modules and policy-as-code patterns.
• Collaborate with Platform and Architecture to establish security accounts and logging baselines.
• Implement and tune Service Control Policies and preventive controls for cloud actions.
• Embed security controls into CI/CD and infrastructure delivery workflows.
