Job summary

RELX is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to design, build, and operate security tooling at scale across cloud environments. You will guide junior engineers, own architecture decisions for one or more platforms, and collaborate with Incident Response and GRC.

This role requires hands-on cloud security expertise, proficiency with Terraform and GitHub Actions, and leadership to raise the technical bar across the team. Expect competitive compensation and global scope.

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on experience in security engineering at production scale.
• Experience designing security architecture in AWS with multi-account, cross-region considerations.
• Advanced Terraform IaC practices and standards for a team.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) with security in mind.
• Hands-on with SIEM, EDR, DLP, PAM, WAF, SOAR, and vulnerability management.
• Proven mentoring and leadership within a security/engineering team.
• Python scripting and production services on Kubernetes/EKS.

Responsibilities

• Leading the design, architecture, and delivery of security platforms and services.
• Owning and evolving Infrastructure as Code standards (Terraform) and CI/CD practices across the team.
• Providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers.
• Driving integration, tuning, and lifecycle management of core security tooling.
• Partnering with Incident Response, Threat Engineering, and GRC to translate threats into roadmaps.
• Championing AI-assisted engineering practices to improve velocity and test coverage.
• Delivering production-ready systems on time and within budget.
