Job summary

Leidos is seeking an experienced Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to support cloud modernization for the US Coast Guard in Alexandria, VA. The role focuses on secure, scalable cloud solutions across AWS and Azure, aligning with mission priorities and Leidos standards.

You will lead threat modeling, risk assessments, and incident response for cloud-native services, while integrating security into CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows. U.S. citizenship and clearable status are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years in information security engineering or Master’s with 10+ years of experience.
• Deep expertise in AWS and Azure security services and architecture.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native security controls and shared responsibility models.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Puppet.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Certifications such as CCSP, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, or Azure Security Engineer.
• Proven experience supporting ATO upgrades and compliance artifacts.
• Experience with cATO for federal systems.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement secure cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure.
• Define and enforce cloud security policies, standards, and automation frameworks.
• Lead threat modeling, risk assessments, and incident response for cloud-native apps.
• Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows.
• Support cloud ICAM, encryption, and key management systems.
• Monitor cloud environments using SIEM, CSPM, CWPP, and tools.
• Collaborate with engineering, compliance, and operations teams for secure cloud adoption.
• Stay ahead of cloud threats and propose mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate across engineering, cybersecurity, and program management teams.
• Promote continuous improvement through feedback and process refinement.
• Ensure alignment with USCG mission priorities and Leidos standards.
