Job summary

Brookfield Real Estate seeks a Staff Security Engineer, Cloud & AI Platform to secure cloud and AI platforms by design. You will lead security architecture across AWS, IaC, software delivery, and AI/agent systems, mentoring teams and driving secure defaults.

The role focuses on threat modeling, reusable controls, automated checks, and secure rollout patterns, partnering with multiple engineering and security teams to raise overall security posture.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in production security/platform systems.
• Senior or staff-level ownership of security architecture decisions.
• Deep AWS security experience (IAM, multi-account, logging, KMS).
• Strong Terraform/OpenTofu skills with modular patterns.

Responsibilities

• Define security architecture for cloud and AI platforms; set direction and secure-by-default patterns.
• Review infrastructure and application designs for authorization, data protection, and tenant isolation risks.
• Mentor engineers to improve security decision-making across teams.
• Partner with Cloud Solutions, Engineering, Identity, and GRC to prioritize work and drive adoption.
• Establish secure patterns for GitHub Actions, IaC checks, and deployment security controls.
• Lead threat modeling and security design reviews for web apps, APIs, and AI systems.
