Job summary

Quanta Services in Houston is seeking an IT Security Architect to lead secure cloud designs across AWS and Azure, embedding with cloud and data teams to build hardened workloads and secure reference architectures.

You will implement secure patterns, guide threat modeling, and contribute hands-on engineering for data-platform workloads such as Databricks, with IaC and automation to accelerate delivery. The role demands senior security engineering experience and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field, or commensurate experience in cloud security architecture and engineering.
• 7+ years IT experience in cloud and application development.
• 5+ years devoted to security with AWS and Azure cloud security engineering experience.
• Experience building and securing solutions on AWS and Azure (not single-cloud).
• Hands-on experience building applications or automation for agentic and AI-driven solutions on AWS/Azure.

Responsibilities

• Combine security architecture with forward-deployed engineering to design secure cloud architectures on AWS and Azure.
• Design and implement secure reference architectures and patterns for cloud workloads (landing zones, network segmentation, identity, secrets management, egress).
• Architect and secure agentic and AI/LLM-driven workloads with secure patterns and data protection.
• Provide security architecture and hands-on engineering for data-platform workloads (Databricks Unity Catalog, isolation, access governance).
• Build working reference implementations, automation, and infrastructure-as-code for teams to adopt.
• Architect secure patterns for internet-exposed cloud workloads (WAF, app gateway, private connectivity).
• Partner with enterprise security to apply threat models and review standards to cloud and data designs.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to cloud/engineering teams and communicate risk to leadership.
• Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
