Job Summary (Primary function)

The Senior Cloud Security Architect is responsible for overseeing enterprise security architecture across all technology stacks, including on-premises, cloud, and emerging security risks. This role involves working closely with business, infrastructure, and other IT teams to conduct security reviews, vulnerability assessments, remediation, and other cybersecurity initiatives. Additionally, the Senior Architect will manage resources and lead project management efforts to ensure the organization’s security posture aligns with industry best practices and organizational goals.

This is a fully remote position - Candidates within reasonable commuting distance only

Essential Functions of the Job (Key responsibilities)

1. Develop and oversee enterprise security architecture, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices across all technology stacks, including on-premises, cloud, and emerging security risks.
2. Lead the implementation and management of comprehensive security solutions, ensuring robust protection for the organization’s assets.
3. Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security reviews, collaborating with various teams on remediation efforts.
4. Provide expert guidance on security controls and best practices for both on-premise and cloud-based solutions to IT and business teams.
5. Perform detailed security investigations, document findings and recommendations for complex incidents, and resolve issues while preserving forensic evidence.
6. Identify and implement continuous improvements in security-related processes and technologies.
7. Manage and mentor a team of cybersecurity professionals, ensuring effective resource allocation and professional development.
8. Lead and manage cybersecurity projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organizational objectives.
9. Collaborate with the Security Operations Center (SOC) and other teams to enhance detection and response capabilities.

Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)

1. 7 - 10 years of experience in IT with a focus on Cyber Security and Cloud security services.
2. 4+ years of Cloud Security architecture experience.
3. Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, AWS/Azure Certified Security Specialist) preferred.
4. Proven experience in managing and leading cybersecurity teams and projects.
5. Extensive knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, network security architecture, and engineering.
6. Expertise in cloud (AWS, Azure, Oracle) and on-premises security and related technologies.
7. In-depth knowledge and experience with various security tools and technologies, including End-Point Security, SIEM, DLP, IRM, vulnerability assessment, and patch management.
8. Comprehensive understanding of risk and vulnerability mitigation.
9. Knowledge of security standards and guidelines from NIST and SANS.
10. Hands-on administrative experience with Windows Server, Linux, Oracle DB, and SQL/Server technologies.
11. Basic knowledge of ITIL.
12. Strong project management skills, including experience with project planning, execution, and monitoring.
13. Excellent relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
14. Must have strong organizational and communication skills.
15. Must be a self-starter and work well independently, as well as within a team environment.
