Job summary

Bank of America seeks a Senior Architect – Cloud & SaaS to lead the network security architecture for cloud platforms and SaaS consumption, ensuring secure, resilient, and scalable enterprise workloads. You will define secure patterns, guide architecture roadmaps, and collaborate with security, engineering, and product teams.

The role emphasizes zero-trust access, multi-tenant SaaS governance, and reusable policy frameworks while mentoring engineers in secure delivery and modern design practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a 4-year degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive IT experience, with 7+ years in architecture or senior engineering roles designing enterprise-scale systems.
• 5+ years of hands-on cloud architecture experience in at least one major public cloud platform (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP).
• Demonstrated experience designing large-scale, highly available, secure, and resilient platforms.
• Proven experience in regulated environments (financial services, banking, insurance, healthcare, or similar).
• Track record of influencing architecture decisions across multiple lines of business or platforms.
• SaaS platform integration, including vendor evaluation, onboarding, and lifecycle management.
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation).
• Container platforms and orchestration (Kubernetes, OpenShift, ECS/AKS/GKE).
• Cloud networking (VPC/VNet design, segmentation, routing, private connectivity).
• Identity and Access Management (IAM, RBAC, federation, SSO).
• Proven ability to act as a technical authority and advisor for senior engineering leaders and executives.

Responsibilities

• Works across the business, operations and technology to create the solution intent and architectural vision.
• Prioritizes functional and non-functional requirements into a technology backlog.
• Contributes to the architecture roadmap across defined domains: Business, Application, Data, Technology.
• Clarifies architecture, assists with system design to support implementation, and offers design options.
• Facilitates solution discussions, leads complex architecture design, and ensures modular, adaptable patterns.
• Educates teams on best practices to create innovative secure solutions.
• Supports selecting technology stacks and preferred products for solutions.
• Drives secure design patterns and reference architectures across cloud and SaaS environments.
• Standardizes architectures for secure cloud and SaaS enablement, including access and workload protection.
