Job summary

System One in Washington, DC seeks a Senior Product Manager to lead strategy and development of a cloud-based research computing platform for federal contractors. Candidates should have 6+ years in technical product management with cloud infrastructure experience, hands-on design for cloud apps, and a track record of shipping enterprise research

Qualifications

• 6+ years of technical product management experience.
• 4+ years cloud infrastructure experience.
• Hands-on design experience for cloud-based applications and systems.
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, IaC and observability.
• Strong understanding of AI-based development workflows.
• Proven track record shipping enterprise or research products from conception to launch.
• Experience collaborating with security and compliance teams, data governance and risk review processes.
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, security, data and business stakeholders.
• Experience defining strategy and roadmaps for enterprise platforms.
• Excellent communication with business, technical and executive stakeholders.
• Experience with academic research workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end product strategy and roadmap for a cloud-based platform to support economic research.
• Partner with researchers to gather requirements and translate into clear specifications and priorities.
• Understand user needs across use cases and drive prioritization and solutioning.
• Collaborate with architecture, cloud engineering, data platform and security teams to meet research needs with governance and security.
• Lead discovery activities including user research, journey mapping, and workflow design.
• Demonstrate ownership and drive cross-team alignment and timely delivery of outcomes.
• Balance short-term delivery with long-term platform strategy for scalable solutions.
• Define success metrics and iterate based on usage data and feedback.
• Communicate product vision, progress and tradeoffs to technical, non-technical and executive stakeholders.
