Job summary

Oracle's GoldenGate OCI team seeks a Principal Site Reliability Engineer to own operational health for OCI GoldenGate and OCI Database Migration Service. Lead reliability initiatives, drive automation, and collaborate with cloud and software teams to scale and secure critical migrations.

The role emphasizes observability, IaC, CI/CD, and incident response across Oracle Cloud environments, with opportunities to shape architecture and platform evolution.

Qualifications

• US citizen with active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• 7+ years production engineering or distributed services experience.
• Strong automation background with scripting languages (bash, python, etc).
• Solid understanding of Software Engineering and CS principles.
• Solid foundation in Linux Systems Engineering.
• Strong networking, security, and storage fundamentals.
• Experience with Docker.
• Understanding Infrastructure as Code concepts.
• Experience with Terraform and/or Ansible.
• Experience building fully automated CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Hudson, TeamCity).
• Ability to derive KPIs and business metrics from systems.
• Experience operating cloud services at major providers (AWS/Azure/GCP/OCI) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate and support production cloud services powering customer migration and data replication workloads.
• Monitor service health, investigate incidents, and lead complex troubleshooting.
• Participate in incident response, RCA, and post-incident reviews with corrective actions.
• Serve as escalation point for critical issues not covered by SOPs.
• Collaborate with software teams to improve service architecture, reliability, and scalability.
• Design and implement automation to reduce overhead and improve efficiency.
• Build and maintain observability, including monitoring, logging, dashboards, and metrics.
• Contribute to capacity planning, disaster recovery readiness, and resilience initiatives.
• Support services across Oracle Cloud commercial and sovereign environments.
• Leverage IaC and CI/CD to ensure consistent deployments.
