Senior Cloud Platform Software Engineer (Finance)

It's an exciting time to join the NVIDIA Cloud Native Engineering (NVCNE) group's backend software team! As a Cloud Platform Software Engineer, you will work alongside architects, designers, frontend engineers, SREs, and others to deliver a software platform that supports the lifecycle of Artificial Intelligence (AI) super compute infrastructure on Kubernetes. Together, we will enable AI services across the cloud.

The engineer will write software that aligns with the broad architectural vision for the NVIDIA Cloud Platform, working with architects to develop a robust, scalable system. The engineer owns their code — from development to commit, testing, and deployment. They will support SRE teams with development and collaborate with internal product teams on sophisticated distributed systems problems at scale. This role encourages fostering NVIDIA's approach to Cloud Native development, especially Kubernetes.

What you will be doing:

1. Develop software systems to support large-scale deployments of cloud services
2. Contribute to multiple source code projects to fulfill NVIDIA requirements with software services
3. Collaborate with engineering managers, architects, designers, and frontend engineers to deliver high-quality software
4. Automate validation of software solutions with unit and integration tests
5. Participate in ownership and health of CI/CD pipelines from development to production environments
6. Work with other specialists for feedback on proposed designs and product direction
7. Share successes and failures openly in a no-blame environment

What we need to see:

• BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 12+ years of proven experience in large-scale software development
• Experience building and shipping services on Kubernetes
• Background with using and contributing to open-source projects
• Experience supporting cloud services at scale
• Programming experience in relevant languages, e.g., Golang, Python
• Ability to communicate design and quality strategies effectively in written, visual, and oral formats
• Experience with modern infrastructure tools and technologies

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

• Experience with Kubernetes Cluster API, Terraform, Tinkerbell, and other infrastructure tooling
• Practical experience with Azure, GCP, or AWS
• Ability to refactor software to run in systems such as Kubernetes
• Knowledge of CSI, CNI, and CRI
• Familiarity with CNCF ecosystem and tooling
• Contributions to open source projects

The base salary range is $224,000 to $425,500, determined by location, experience, and peer compensation. Additional benefits and equity are included. NVIDIA accepts applications on an ongoing basis.
