It's an exciting time to join the NVIDIA Cloud Native Engineering (NVCNE) group’s backend software team! As a Cloud Platform Software Engineer, you will work alongside architects, designers, frontend engineers, SREs, and others to deliver a software platform that supports the lifecycle of Artificial Intelligence (AI) super compute infrastructure on Kubernetes. Together, we will enable AI services across the cloud.

The engineer will write software that aligns with the broad architectural vision for the NVIDIA Cloud Platform, working with architects to develop a robust, scalable system. The engineer owns their code — from development to commit, testing, and production. They will support SRE teams with development support and collaborate with internal product teams on sophisticated distributed systems problems at scale. This engineer will be encouraged to foster NVIDIA’s approach to Cloud Native development, especially Kubernetes.

What you will be doing:

1. Develop software systems to support large-scale deployments of cloud services
2. Contribute to multiple source code projects to fulfill NVIDIA requirements with software services
3. Collaborate with engineering managers, architects, designers, and frontend engineers to deliver high-quality software
4. Automate the validation of software solutions with unit and integration tests
5. Participate in the ownership and health of CI/CD pipelines from development to production environments
6. Collaborate with other specialists for feedback on proposed designs and product direction
7. Share successes and failures openly in a no-blame environment

What we need to see:

1. BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
2. 12+ years of proven experience in large-scale software development
3. Experience building and shipping services on Kubernetes
4. Background with using and contributing to open-source projects
5. Experience supporting cloud services at scale
6. Programming experience in relevant languages, e.g., Golang, Python
7. Ability to communicate design and quality strategies effectively
8. Experience with modern infrastructure tools and technologies

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

1. Experience with Kubernetes Cluster API, Terraform, Tinkerbell, and other infrastructure tooling
2. Practical experience with Azure, GCP, or AWS
3. Skill in refactoring software for systems like Kubernetes
4. Knowledge of CSI, CNI, and CRI
5. Familiarity with CNCF ecosystem tooling
6. Contributions to open-source projects upstream

The base salary range is $224,000 to $425,500, determined by location, experience, and peer compensation.
